Exhibition: La terre, le feu, l’esprit
Until next June 20th, the Grand Palais is interested in the masterpieces of Korean ceramics, through its exhibition “La terre, le feu, l’esprit”. It is displaying pieces from the collection of the National Museum of Korea, among which most has been ranked Treasure or National Treasure. Indeed, ceramics is an art in itself in Korea. Thanks to this retrospective, we discover the history of this artistic field from the Three Kingdoms’ period to the contemporary era but also through the Joseon and Goryeo dynasties. Exceptional works are showed, like anthropomorphic vases which were often buried with the dead, in order to guide their soul in the hereafter according to the funeral beliefs of the time. This event can be visited a few metro stations away from the Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni. If you wish to keep discovering the Asian art, get a move on to the musée Guimet, located a few minutes walk away from our hotels, where the exhibition “Orient / Asia - Round Trip.” is currently being held.
