Exhibition: In the studio
The Petit Palais takes an interest in the fascination exerted by the artists’ studios in the history of photography since the XIXth century. About 400 prints are shown to the general public and invite to come inside the studios of Jeff Koons, Picasso, Bourdelle, Joan Mitchell or even Ingres and Zadkine. Thanks to them, the visitors dive into the privacy of these great painters and discover the importance of gesture in their process of creation. The studio, place where the work is produced, is thus explored, taking us to meet Brancusi or Rebeyrolle. This is the first time such a retrospective is dedicated to this subject, and takes place nearby the Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni, down the Champs-Elysées Avenue.
“In the studio: the artist photographed from Ingres to Jeff Koons” exhibition, from April 5th to July 17th 2016.
Open Monday-Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
Nocturnal on Friday until 9pm.
