This summer, visit the Parisian Saint-Jacques Tower

With the return of the warm days in the French capital, Parisians look for new outing ideas with their family or as a couple. The Louvre, Montmartre, Notre-Dame, the museums and monuments are legion in Paris, and yet these well-known visits lack originality to the Parisians. Which is why the Green Hotels Paris recommend you to rise above and observe Paris from a different angle... that of the Saint-Jacques Tower's terrace! Erected at the beginning of the 16th century, this 54-meter high flamboyant-style Gothic Tower indeed offers a stunning view on the French capital. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site marking the Camino de Santiago in 1998 (it remains to this day one of the pilgrims' starting point), the Saint-Jacques Tower reopens for the third year in a row, for the Parisians' and adventurous tourists' pleasure.

An active weather station
With its 300 steps, the climb is known to be difficult and not recommended to persons suffering from walking disabilities or heart problems, as well as those subject to claustrophobia or vertigo. In addition to the unique view on Paris and the symbols of the four evangelists sculpted at the terrace's angles, the top of the Tower comprises a weather station attached to the Parc Montsouris' meteorological observatory, which measures indicators used by Météo-France. Finally, the Des Mots et Des Arts association regularly organizes guided tours until September 27th 2015, when the Tower will once again close for winter.

Open from June 5th to September 27th 2015 Wednesday to Sunday from 1:30pm to 6pm.
Full rate: €10 / Concession: €8.
