Exhibition: Saint-Louis
La Conciergerie is presenting an exhibit about Saint-Louis’ reign to celebrate the 800th anniversary of his birth. This retrospective exhibition, organised in partnership with the Musée du Louvre, highlights the different facets of this king who undoubtedly marked French history. 130 works of art have therefore been gathered together: some paintings, manuscripts, stained glass windows, reliquaries and sculptures – in order to illustrate the innovations this historical character introduced, as well as the way he governed his realm. Besides, a 3D scenography was designed to revive the Palais de la Cité, which used to be Louis IX’ residence.
“Saint Louis” exhibition, from October 8th 2014 to January 11th 2015.
Open Thursday-Saturday, from 9.30am to 6pm.
Late opening on Wednesday until 8pm.
Full rate: €8.50 / Free entrance for under-18s and European Union citizens aged between 18 and 25.
