For the first time in France, an exhibition looking at modernity in Mexican painting, from the beginnings of the Revolution up to the mid-twentieth century. The Grand Palais' retrospective "Mexique" takes us on a voyage of discovery of famous artists, such as Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Rufino Tamayo and José Clemente Orozco. Works of contemporary Mexican artists complement this impressive selection. We discover that Mexican art was closely connected with the international avant-garde, especially that of Paris. The second part of the exhibition looks at Mexican mural painting and graphics from the years that followed the revolution. This is an exhibition that explores both the abundant creativity of this country and also its turbulent history, only a few metro stations from Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni.
