Family outing in Paris during the holiday season

With the holidays fast approaching, winter-themed activities are flourishing in the Paris’streets. With ice-skating rinks, merry-go-rounds and Christmas markets, the city is completely transformed during a couple of weeks, to the delight of all. We prepared a nice itinerary to do with your family during the holiday season.

The Hôtel de Ville ice-skating rink
Near to the Seine and in front of the Paris Town hall, the Hôtel de Ville ice-skating rink is the perfect place to share a nice family time in a wonderful setting.

The ice-skating rink is open until March 1st 2015.
Check the opening hours on the Mairie de Paris website.

Christmas markets and merry-go-rounds
During the holiday season, the nicest streets of Paris will host numerous Christmas markets and merry-go-rounds. We particularly enjoy the Marché de Notre-Dame, held in front of the majestic Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, which puts craftsmanship under the spotlight and offers to discover French regional specialties. After that, the colourful merry-go-round on the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville will delight the small ones.

The Marché de Noël Paris Notre-Dame is open until December 23rd 2014.
Every day from 10am to 8pm.
Late opening on Friday and on the weekends, until 9pm.

The Grande Roue
Visible from the Champs-Elysées Avenue, the mythical Ferris wheel proudly stands on the Place de la Concorde again. Admire the breath-taking view of Paris from one of its 42 heated gondolas.

The Grande Roue is installed until February 15th 2015.
