Exhibition: Seoul-Paris-Seoul
On the occasion of the Année de la Corée en France (Year of Korea in France), Cernuschi Museum takes an interest in works of Korean contemporary artists who have worked in France or who are still working there. About 60 works are on display until February 7th 2016, made by the biggest artists of the 20th century, but also young creators as Lee Ungno, Kim Guiline, Lee Bae, Moon Shin, Chung Sang-Hwa and Rhee Seund Ja. They mostly come from permanent collections of the Cernuschi Museum, but also from the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Korea, from the Lee Ungno Museum of Daejeon, as well as several private collections. This exhibition proposes to understand how these artists have been influenced by the school of Paris, but also the attraction of traditional materials or calligraphy had on their creation.
