Until September 18th 2017, come and discover at the Musée de l’Homme the exhibition dedicated to the Brazilian artist Frans Krajcberg. Born in 1921, this painter from Warsaw studied fine arts in Stuttgart then in Paris, before he emigrated to Brazil in 1945. In 1957, he receives the Brazilian best painter Prize and took the Brazilian nationality the next year. The Amazon forest becomes his fight and inspiration. Through his art works, he aims to awaken the interest of everyone for the protection of the environment. After a trip on the Rio Negro river (Amazonia) with Sepp Baendereck and Pierre Restany in 1978, Frans Krajcberg is led to a great awareness. Follows the “Manifeste du naturalisme intégral du Rio Negro” (“Manifest of the integral naturalism of the Rio Negro”). In 2013, he publishes a new call, with Claude Mollard, “Le Nouveau Manifeste du Naturalisme integral” (“The New Manifest of integral Naturalism”), in order to begin an artistic movement for the protection of the environment. Thanks to loans of the Espace Krajcberg (website in French), you can discover objects and photographs illustrating life in those wide and fascinating forests. This event is to discover just a block away from the Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni.
