Exhibition: Dineo Seshee Bopape

For its exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo, the South African artist Dineo Seshee Bopape suggests an immersive installation. For this creation, she drew her inspiration from the rendition of Nina Simone’s “Feelings” at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1976. Her work enables to ask ourselves about socio-political contexts but also on the saturation of emotions or on psychic dissolution. To steer these issues, the artist creates installations which are made up of videos, recycling items as well as sculptures. By multiplying shapes, Dineo Seshee Bopape aims to give several stories and points of view that she can have on today’s society as well as on gender, sexuality or colonial history. A contemporary art event which can be visited a few minutes walk from the Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni.

Exhibition "Dineo Seshee Bopape: Untitled (of occult instability) [Feelings]", from June 23rd to September 11st, 2016.
Open every day from noon to midnight, except on Tuesdays.
