Exhibition: Derain, Balthus, Giacometti
In addition to its exhibition dedicated to the Dutch artist Karel Appel, the musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris is interested in the friendship of three great artists of the XXth century: André Derain (1880-1954), Balthus (1908-2011) and Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966). 350 works (paintings, sculptures, photos and works on paper) dating from the 1930s to the 1960s are presented. In addition to a sincere friendship, the three men were united by a common vision of art. The three of them were all interested in ancient paintings, as well as in the art of the distant civilizations, showing a will of modernity. This event is available near the Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni. Soon, we will tell you about another retrospective presented by the museum, "Medusa. Bijoux et tabous", about jewellery through times.
