Participate in the oceans’ remediation!

From March 20th to 23rd, Surfrider Foundation Europe organizes the 19th edition of the Ocean Initiatives, a large beaches, lakes and rivers clean-up operation in Europe. This year's theme is based on the slogan "Jeter par terre, c'est jeter en mer", which means "If you drop it on the land, it ends up in the sea". The aim is to demonstrate that the waste you throw on the ground can end up in the ocean, even if you drop it far way from the shore, due to the water cycle. The foundation points out that 80% of the marine litter originally comes from the continent. This percentage means that around 6.5 billion kilos of plastic waste are discharged in the oceans every year. To fight against this pollution, the Ocean Initiatives foundation organizes more than 400 event in Europe, so that volunteers can clean the water polluted by garbage, whether dropped deliberately or not. Will you take part in this event?
