Until July 1st, 2018, the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine of the City of Paris is dedicating an exhibition to the most famous Finnish architect and designer: Alvar Aalto (1898-1976). After studying at the Helsinki University of Technology, Alvar Aalto opened his first architectural office in Jyväskylä in 1923. Fascinated by decorative art, he also created models of objects and furniture in laminated and bent wood. He thus became one of the founders of organic design. For this retrospective, the Cité de l’Architecture gathered about 150 of Aalto’s artworks, including models, drawings, photographs, objects and furniture. Contemporary architecture aficionados will have the opportunity to admire the most beautiful creations of the author of the Maison Louis Carré, located in the Yvelines department (78). It’s the only edifice designed by Alvar Aalto in France. This event is available just a few-minute walk away from the Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni.
