Les Pestacles at the Parc floral de Paris
Every summer since 2008, Pestacles –childish way of saying Spectacles (shows)– is an event that comprises many activities dedicated to young Parisians and tourists in the green setting of the Parc floral de Paris. From circus to street art, world music to slam, dance to theater, each style is represented for the pleasure of young visitors. These performances are combined with instructive activities or participatory projects. Children are no longer spectators, but become actors. Thus, the maze-garden designed by Chief gardener Jean-Yves Moreau and a land artist, is a scalable garden, which evolves in the course of the constructions created by the children from waste material or plants. A few feet away, a young actress performs tales in their classic or contemporary version every Wednesday morning. Finally, an unusual garden awaits the children, who will discover the diversity of plant species over the course of an itinerary on the five senses.
