The sixth edition of the Jour de La Nuit (Day of the Night) will take place on this Saturday. Launched in 2009 by "Agir pour l'Environnement" organization (Act for the environment), this national event aims at making people aware of light pollution. Through night strolls, walks in nature, observation of stars, conferences, debates and the extinction of lights, Day of the Night shows how important it is to protect night life and starry sky. Many structures and organizations in France will participate to the event, providing the public with the magic of a dark night, free of any artificial light that might unsettle nocturnal ecosystems. The event will also occur in Paris region, but the activities will mainly take place in cities surrounding of the capital, like Vincennes, where some lights will be off all night long.
