Exhibition: La Seine sous la surface
Just nearby the Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni, the Pavillon de l’Eau suggests discovering the works of hydrobiologist and underwater photographer Anne-Cécile Monnier. The artist was interested in the landscapes of the Seine’s catchment and in the biodiversity present on the site. Therefore, curious people have the opportunity to admire the many marvels and sights housed within the aquatic environments of the Ile-de-France region. This free exhibition intends to demonstrate the importance of setting up a protection of freshwater environments in order to preserve them from pollution—among others. Thanks to “La Seine sous la surface”, the public also discovers that the water quality in the Seine has improved over the years. This progression is notably due to the implementation of a European law prohibiting manufacturers as well as communities from discharging untreated wastewater in the river.
Exhibition ‘La Seine sous la surface’, from April 25th to December 30th, 2016.
Open from Monday through Friday from 10am to 6pm.
