Exhibition: Jeu, set et mode

The French Tennis Federation Museum invites the public to discover the evolution of tennis fashion, from the 1890s to the present day. Around sixty iconic creations recounting the history of this sport are thus showcased. Originally, tennis used to be practiced by high British aristocracy, with women wearing long white pleated skirts and men white pants for the occasion. In the 1920s, the skirts shorten, thanks to Jeanne Lanvin's sketches as well as Jean Patou's creations for French player Suzanne Lenglen. In the 1980s, the world of tennis is shaken by André Agassi's eccentric and colorful outfits. Fashion lovers have since then have cleverly burrowed tennis codes' aesthetic by wearing a Lacoste polo shirt, Tennis shoes or the Ted Tingling short skirt in the street. A fascinating exhibition recommended by the Green Hotels Paris to discover until March 2016.
