Exhibition: Hodler, Monet, Munch

Since last Thursday, the musée Marmottan gathers three sacred monsters of painting for its new exhibition: Ferdinand Hodler (1853-1918), Claude Monet (1840-1926) and Edvard Munch (1863-1944). After ‘L’Art et l’enfant’, the museum invites us to plunge into Impressionism, Post-impressionism and Symbolism. Why such an association? Because these three artists had the same questionings on their works. How to retranscribe the movements and the different variations of light on the water or on the trunk of a tree? How to paint sun or snow? They made the impossible possible, capturing the beauty of a lighting and nature, bring it to life on a canvas, however still. This very beautiful retrospective will delight lovers of the three painters, and can be discovered not far from the Green Hotels Paris—the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni—at the heart of the 16th arrondissement.

Exhibition ‘Hodler, Monet, Munch’, from September 15th 2016 to January 21st, 2017.
Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
Nocturnal on Thursday until 9pm.
Full rate: €11 / Reduced rate (under 18): €6.50 / Free under 7.
