All new things cultural this Autumn in Paris

Autumn in Paris is marked by the number of events revolving around Art, so the FIAC can’t just give one example. The trade shows, salons, and exhibitions to follow and not to miss out on. This Autumn is going to be more artistic than ever, since we see the unavoidable cultural places reopen their doors like the Monnaie de Paris or the Picasso Museum, just like the opening of the highly anticipated Louis Vuitton Foundation.

La Monnaie de Paris
Situated in the heart of the 6th arrondissment of the capital, the Monnaie de Paris has partially reopened its doors since the 25th October 2014. It’s all about the oldest French institution to still be in action. It strikes the current currency as well as medals and coin collections that you will be able to purchase on the spot. From this point forward, the place equally welcomes exhibitions in a succession of salons from the 18th Century, one of the parts constructed the site. A 3 star restaurant converted by the architect Jean-Michel Willmotte will equally open its doors to the west wing of the building. The chef Guy Savoy will be there to take the orders.

The Picasso Museum
The 25th October 2014 was also a date to be noted as a landmark event for the Parisian amateur cubists. It marks the day where the National Museum Picasso-Paris opened its doors. The date was not chosen by chance, since it was the birthday of the famous painter. Here you can discover the biggest public collection in the world of the work of Picasso. You will be able to see again all the genres which were touched upon by the artist including cubism, but also primitivism, polymorphism, as well as paintings from the war.

The Louis Vuitton Foundation
The Louis Vuitton Foundation, which opened its doors on the 27th of October 2014, sits majestically in the Zoo Park in the Boulogne Woods. Its first collection pays homage to the architect Frank Gehry who designed the facade. This new space’s principal aim is to celebrate contemporary art through a number of events. Here you can discover a permanent collection of art work from Bernard Arnault’s personal collection, who is equally at the origin of the place, as well as two contemporary exhibitions per year and a variety of music shows organised in the auditorium.
