Exhibition: Marc Riboud
Until January 15th 2017, the musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris pays tribute to the French photographer Marc Riboud (1923-2016). 27 photographs stem from the permanent collections of the museum are presented. After he realised his first photos in 1937, with his father’s photographic camera (used in the trenches during World War One), Marc Riboud joined the Magnum agency in 1953. Its shots are published in Life magazine. He spent his entire career shooting photo documentaries, in particular Cuba in 1963 where he approached Fidel Castro, in Algeria, before, during and after its independence, in Vietnam, and during the Bangladeshi war, during which he met Indira Gandhi, in 1971. Its prints are true to life, always sensitive and kind. An event to discover just a block away from the Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni. Besides, it is a free exhibition.
