Exhibition: Georges Noël
The musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris has recently purchased five major works of French painter Georges Noël, who was born in Béziers in 1924 and died in Paris in 2010. Inspired by avant-garde artists such as Brassaï, Fontana and Dubuffet, the painter’s work was marked by the Art Informel. Georges Noël’s creations were also influenced by literature and rituals from archaic cultures. He moved to New York in 1968, where he was introduced to the Minimalism and Hard Edge movements and achieved to become a multi-faceted artist.
“Georges Noël” exhibition, from January 22nd to May 3rd 2015.
Open Tuesday-Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
Free entrance.
