Exhibition: Desdémone, entre désir et désespoir
The Arab World Institute's new exhibition takes a closer look at the representation of feelings in paintings, and particularly the desire and despair leading to murder. This retrospective rests on Eugène Delacroix's painting "Othello and Desdemona", based on William Shakespeare's play, and revisits Desdemona's personality, in turns a loving wife, victim or mistress, through works from the 19th to the 21st centuries, which dialog with one another. At the Green Hotels Paris, we are thrilled to discover paintings by Gustave Moreau as well as Cézanne, by Lili Reynaud-Dewar and Félix Vallotton, or even Sophie Calle and Camille Henrot. A must-see rich and varied exhibition!
