Exhibition: Carte blanche à Lee Bae
Following "Intérieur coréen" and "Art bonpo", the Guimet Museum focuses on contemporary Korean art this time. He has thus given a free rein to Korean ceramist Lee Bae. The artist is known for working with coal, a material at the center of his imagination but that has also a strong symbolic and ritual impact in the Korean culture. His works are the meeting point of various artistic genres, between drawing, painting and performance. Underneath the rotunda vault of the museum, the artist has exposed his "contemporary cave", an installation mixing sculpture, painting and video. He has successfully combined light to perception of matter in a black and white contrast opening a reflection on time. A fascinating retrospective to discover close to the Green Hotels Paris.
