Electric Car versus petrol or diesel car, which pollutes the most ?

Several recent studies show that the electric car pollutes less than petrol or diesel cars and it has a bright future. Figures prove that an electric car (battery manufacturing included) emits up to three times less greenhouse gas and even less air pollutants than cars with a combustion engine (petrol or diesel).

Although their detractors claim that manufacturing the batteries for electric cars and the management of their end-of-life, make them extremely polluting, indeed, the production of lithium-ion batteries requires materials such as cobalt, lithium, copper, nickel and other rare substances, but lithium mining, essential for these batteries, is neither more polluting nor problematic than mining for other metals.
