Exhibition: Secondes Vies
The French Tennis Federation Museum features the "Secondes Vies" (Second Lives) exhibition dedicated to deteriorated sports equipment recycling. This interactive retrospective provides visitors with the opportunity to understand how this equipment is recycled, and aims to prove that Art is a genuine communication medium as far as sustainable development issues are concerned. This event is, among others, part of the COP21, which will occur in Paris in December 2015, as well as the French Opération Balle Jaune (Yellow Ball Operation), a key action of the French Tennis Federation. This operation consists in the salvage of deteriorated tennis balls in order to turn them into carpet, or even playgrounds. For the "Secondes Vies. Métamorphoses du matériel sportif" (Second Lives. Transformation of sports equipment) exhibition, ten works by contemporary artists were selected by a jury. Visitors will be able to admire furniture made using skis and snowboards, or bags made using sports shirts or Neoprene suits.
"Secondes Vies. Métamorphoses du matériel sportif" exhibition, from May 12th 2015 to September 21st 2015.
Open from 10am to 6pm on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
