Exhibition: D’après nature
The Institut Suédois (Swedish Institute's) exhibition "D'après nature" ("According to Nature") looks at mankind's modern relationship with nature, and also with our conception of what it is. In the history of art, nature has always been everywhere, even if represented in different ways, at different times, by different cultures. This is why the Institut Suédois is exhibiting three Swedish artists whose favorite subject is nature: Henrik Håkansson, Hanna Ljungh and Åsa Sonjasdotter. Åsa Sonjasdotter's work is about potatoes, from the time they are planted, to their harvest, revealing the historical, economic and social role they have played through the ages. Henrik Håkansson's nature is more poetical and scientific as he is principally interested in climate change. His work has already been exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo, in a personal retrospective in 2006. Finally, Hanna Ljungh is inspired by legendary moments from Nordic arts, like Ingmar Bergman's films, to produce humorous works which depict unexpected meetings of man and nature. This free exhibition takes place both inside and outside the Museum, until October 25th 2015.
Exhibition "D'après nature", from May 22nd to October 25th, 2015.
Open from Tuesday to Sunday, from noon to 6.00 p.m.
