With “Before the Incas. Gods and Kings in Ancient Peru”, the musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac reflects on ancient societies of Northern Peru. The exhibition lean on recent archaeological researches, realised in two regions, the one of the Huacas near from Trujillo, and the one of the royal tombs of Sipán, in Peru. 300 pieces are exposed, namely the ceramics. They are the witnesses of the organisation of the power in these missing societies and the role of the kings, the warriors, the celestial gods, or even of the priests and the priestesses of this time. This retrospective reveals the strength of these civilizations that were overshadowed in the imaginary of the Inca Empire. It is to be visited not far from the Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni, a few minutes away from the Eiffel Tower, towards the Seine.
