Overcoming drought in India

Second most populated country in the world, India has difficulties in providing water to its 1.4  billion inhabitants. And things are getting worse with gradual climate changes which make weather-forecasting more and more unpredictable.

In Indian villages, fetching water is traditionally assumed by women. Many of them have been brutalized by their husbands because they didn’t manage to bring back home enough water, explained M. Singh.

With the help of Singh’s charity organization, Srikumar, and a dozen other volunteers , have dug a reservoir near the village, which is the size of a football field, and which can contain up to three meters deep of water, at the end of the monsoon season.
