Edvard Munch. Exhibition
A poem of life, love and death
The works of Munch play a transitional role in modern art. They are deeply rooted in the XIXth century in order to display totally in the next one. Munch’s work, moreover, is entirely innervated by his particular vision of the world which gives it a powerful symbolist dimension that cannot be reduced to the masterpieces he created in the 1890´s. Beyond the end of century symbolism, Munch transcends this artistic movement further than its climax, and this becomes the backbone of his art, by giving it greater cohesion.
