The ascetic figure is central in numerous expressions of Indian art, recurrent as often in ancient as well as contemporary India. It illustrates particularly the development of a discipline of mind and body - in order to be detached from the world - discipline named yoga. This exhibition dedicated to the representations of asceticism, brings together a range of Indian miniatures, wood and  bronze sculptures dating from the Xth to the XIXth centuries.
