Exhibition: Les Maîtres de la sculpture de Côte d’Ivoire
With its “Les Maîtres de la sculpture de Côte d’Ivoire”, the Musée du quai Branly aims to bring back Western Africa art to its former glory. Too long considered an indigenous handicraft in Occident, the artworks presented yet show the richness of the Lobi, Dan, Senufo or Guro. These wood carvings, made mainly in Ivory Coast, introduce the religious, geographical and social context of the country. Showcased until the end of July 2015, they also allow visitors to accustom –so to speak– their eye to the aesthetical codes of this geographical area.
"Les Maîtres de la sculpture de Côte d'Ivoire" exhibition, from April 14th to July 26th 2015.
Open Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday from 11am to 7pm.
Late opening Thursday to Saturday until 9pm.
Full rate: from €9 to €11.
