Danton’s Death


Danton’s Death is a frescoe thoroughly documented which depicts a generation of men and women who were committed to a social battle which will finally bring around their downfall. Simon Delétang situates the setting in an XVIIIth century luxurious decor where the gold of monarchy still glows. This unique evolving space is taken over by 17 artists that we follow to the numerous various places where Danton’s fate was at stake; Danton, who thoroughly enjoyed life, and who was an ardent opponent to Robespierre ´s terror system.
