Exhibition: The art of love at the time of the Geishas
It’s within the framework of its Art and Eroticism season in the East, that the Pinacothèque in Paris welcomes a collection of erotic Japanese prints. Created in the Edwardian era, between 1603 and 1867, these artworks were commissioned by the upper class. Fruits of a number of fantasies, these works were especially collected in secret by some of the greatest artistic personalities, like Gustav Klimt and Emile Zola. This new retrospective also takes a look at contemporary Japan, by showing the heritage of this current period of Art, particularly with manga.
