Exhibition: Art mode design, esthétique du monde aquatique
For its new exhibition, the Aquarium Tropical de la Porte Dorée is offering to discover the works of artists inspired by aquatic environments. “Art mode design, esthétique du monde aquatique” shows fashion designers and artists’ works, like Californian designer Roxy Russell. With her work named “Medusae”, made of suspended luminaires being like octopuses, she alerts the general public to ocean pollution by plastic waste. This retrospective divided into three parts also highlights director Zena Holloway’s work. This specialist in underwater photography creates portraits of extreme beauty in clothing which seem light as a feather underwater. Finally, the world-famous French ethologist and philosopher, Dominique Lestel, exhibits his last creations (oils, drawings, acrylics and installations). A nice retrospective which proves that art and water have always been linked – and this in all cultures.
Exhibition “Art mode design, esthétique du monde aquatique”, from March 1st to June 12th 2016.
Open from Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 5:30pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 7pm.
Full rate (Aquarium + exhibition): €9 / Free under 4.
