VeggieTown: Paris’s ‘veggie quarter’
Vegan and vegetarian friends, let’s meet in the 9th and 10th arrondissements of Paris at VeggieTown. It’s the French Vegetarian Association (AVF) which nicknames this Parisian quarter located—among others—between the rue de Paradis and Faubourg-Poissonnière’s. Numerous French and foreign vegetarian, vegan and veggie-friendly restaurants have opened there to the great delight of your tastebuds!
A green and proud quarter
Let’s start with Eat me which serves homemade fast food at the 58, rue du Faubourg- Poissonnière. Let yourself be tempted by the vegetarian salad with summer quinoa or by the delicious vanilla panna cotta with apricot coulis. A little further in the street, continue with Bol Porridge Bar—a porridge bar with light wooden tables and numerous plants. It’s up to you to make your bowl—sugar-based for example—with oats porridge—also available in gluten free version. Let’s head now to the rue des Petites-Ecuries where Naān Paris’s Indian street food awaits you. With its veggie samosas and eggplant caviar, we definitely enjoy! Therefore, this new ’veggie quarter’ is an opportunity to diversify the capital’s gastronomical choices and reach the ranks of Berlin or Amsterdam—references in terms of veganism.
