A plant which had disappeared for almost one century reappears
The delicate orchid named Prasophyllum morgani, identified for the last time in 1933, has recently been observed in Australia. A discovery that delights Australian botanists, seldom witness of the reappearance of species they thought extinct. Whilst it had been spotted for the last time in 1933, new specimens of the Prasophyllum Morgani orchid were located southeast of Australia, when the gouvernement organized a study on the damages caused by fires in 2019-2020, named « Black Summer », explains the New Scientist.
