Tristan & Isolde: Joëlle Bouvier bewitches Chaillot
If you liked "Mass b" by Béatrice Massin, you will appreciate "Tristan & Isolde" (Salue pour moi le monde!), by choreographer Joëlle Bouvier, from March 23rd to April 1st 2016 at the Théâtre National de Chaillot. With her adaptation of the forbidden love of Tristan and Isolde, medieval legend which stood the test of time in many versions, the artist captivates the public on extracts of Richard Wagner’s opera. The 22 dancers of the ballet of the Grand Théâtre de Genève take us in the fantastic of this tragedy where extreme passion arouses love and hatred. The scenery is pared down whereas the porté are audacious. The story expresses itself in the form of metaphors, in order to emphasize the work’s themes, which are none other than love, betrayal and forgiveness. This stirring and intense ballet can be discovered nearby the Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni, in the 16th district of Paris.
