From January 19th to February 28th, 2018, the Centre Culturel Coréen (Korean Cultural Centre), in association with the Korea Manhwa Contents Agency, is organising an exhibition dedicated to the "Webtoon", the free South Korean digital comic strip available online. Webtoons (contraction of "web" and "cartoon") are a global phenomenon which appeared in 2003. They are entirely imagined and designed to be read on smartphones, tablets or computers. This exhibition focuses on the history of webtoons and its various forms. Lovers of Korean comics will have the opportunity to learn more about this digital art, all the while having access to a reading space equipped with tablets. On the theme of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, projections of 8 webtoons and 40 Korean cartoons are also planned. This unique event is held just in a few-minute walk away from the Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni.
