Exhibition: Ugo Rondinone, I love John Giorno
The Palais de Tokyo proposes the first global exhibition dedicated to the life and work of John Giorno (born is 1936). This American poet was one of the iconic characters of Andy Warhol’s first movies, getting into position as a major figure of the underground stage of the 1960’s in the United-States. To celebrate his work, the museum entrusted the staging of the retrospective to Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone (born in 1964), in the form of a real declaration of love. The public is invited to discover through “I love John Giorno”, the style of this artist who knew with brio how to take the popular language of the advertising, the television, but also the written and street press. His wish was to make poetry open to everyone. This successful gamble is to discover until January 10th next, nearby the Green Hotels Paris.
