Exhibition: Yves Saint Laurent. Dreams of the Orient
Since its opening last October, the musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris presents its first thematic exhibition entitled “Yves Saint Laurent: Dreams of the Orient”. From the 2nd of October 2018 to the 27th of January 2019, a stone's throw from the Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni, visitors are invited to admire around fifty haute couture models inspired by India, China and Japan. Throughout his career, Yves Saint Laurent has constantly revisited the Japanese kimono, Chinese silk embroideries, saris and coats of Indian rulers, drawing inspiration from books and giving free rein to his imagination. Even the mythical “Opium” perfume of the famous house reflects oriental inspirations. The retrospective will present a dialogue between these creations and Asian artworks on loan from the musée national des arts asiatiques - Guimet. This autumn, let yourself get carried away by the sublime encounter between the Orient and one of France's greatest designers!
