Exhibition: Icons of Modern Art, The Shchukin Collection
The Louis Vuitton Foundation is showing one of the finest exhibitions of the end of this year "Icons of modern art. The Shchukin Collection". Until 20th February 2017, the public can see 130 masterpieces of Impressionist, post-impressionist and modern art. They were all accumulated by the Russian collector Sergei Shchukin, one of the greatest patrons of the early twentieth century. He was a visionary of modern French art. As a bonus, some thirty works by major artists of the Russian avant-garde are also exhibited. They show the influence of Shchukin on the formation of several artistic movements, from the cubo-futurists to the supremacists, via the constructivists. This impressive retrospective is close to the Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni.
