Thanks to a selection of around a hundred works - paintings, sculptures, manuscripts and artistic objects - , the exhibition invites the visitors to come and discover the heroines , either resumed or created by romanticism : heroines of the past, heroines from fictions, heroines from the stage. This journey in three phases offers the opportunity to weave links between the fine arts, literature and drama , all of which played a major role during the XIXth century by disseminating a vision of a female heroism with tragic notes.
