Exhibition: Gustave Doré, Master of Imagination
The Musée d'Orsay presents an exhibition on famous French caricaturist and illustrator Gustave Doré (1932-1883). A genius, he was talented in every artistic domain (painting, drawing, engraving, sculpture and watercolors) since he was 15. This unprecedented retrospective revisits his satires and caricatures, as well as the illustrations he drew for great literary works, such as Perrault's tales, or Victor Hugo and Honoré de Balzac's novels.
Exhibition: "Gustave Doré (1832-1883), Master of Imagination", from February 18th to May 11th 2014.
Open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9:30am to 6pm.
Late opening on Thursday until 9:45pm.
Closed on Monday.
Full rate: €11 / Concession: €8.50 (for the 18-25 citizens of the EU, and for everyone after 4pm and on Thursday after 6pm).
Free for the under-18s and on every first Sunday of the month.
