Exhibition: Another banana day for the dream fish
Within the framework of its new season entitled "Childhood", the Palais de Tokyo is presenting the exhibition "Another banana day for the dream fish", from June 22nd to September 9th, 2018. Inspired by the title of J.D. Salinger's short story, "A Perfect Day for Bananafish", published in 1948, this retrospective explores the childlike imagination and the construction of fictional universes, as well as the simultaneous appearance of the individual's first fears and anxieties. Designed as an initiatory route in collaboration with the artist and director Clément Cogitore, the retrospective spreads over eight different areas. The latter host works created by international artists and craftsmen, including Andy Warhol and manga artist Yûichi Yokoyama. Parents and children are invited to (re)immerse themselves in childhood and to try to understand the construction of their identities through everyday and familiar images. This original event is held just a few-minute walk away from the Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni.
