Exhibition: Carte blanche à Kim Chong-hak
Until October 1st, 2018, the Guimet Museum gives carte blanche to the Korean painter Kim Chong-hak (born in 1937). A dozen paintings by this artist nicknamed “the painter of the four seasons” transports the viewer into the heart of nature. With an abundance of bright and saturated colours, the artist's brush gives birth to spring blooming fields, butterflies and birds, his sources of inspiration. Through this representation of the vegetable kingdom, the contemporary artist reinterprets the codes of the Korean tradition of the Choson period (1392-1910). The retrospective also shows another facet of Kim Chong-hak: his collector's soul. Several objects from his personal collection are thus presented to the public. This exhibition is only a few minutes walk away from the Green Hotels Paris, the Eiffel Trocadéro and the Gavarni, a few steps away from the Eiffel Tower.
