Brazeco: eco-friendly firewood
When winter is coming, every French household wonders about their heating management. Near Angoulême, in the Charentes region, two young entrepreneurs have founded Brazeco, a company specialized in 100% natural and eco-friendly firewood for private individuals.
An efficient solution to fight against waste wood
Each year, the CTBA (French technical center for wood and furniture) evaluates the amount of waste produced by sawmills, parquetries and cooperages to 10 million tons, whether in the furniture or construction fields . Brazeco gathers the sawdust and wood shavings that were abandoned until now, to transform them into compressed logs. These cylinders have a higher calorific value than traditional wood, because they are drier. They also produce less ashes, and are more ecological since their manufacturing does not require to cut down trees. This green, renewable and cheap energy is suitable for wood-burners and chimneys. Another advantage: these logs can be stored more easily because they always remain dry and are easier to manipulate.
