The Eiffel Tower requisitioned
For its new occurrence, the Ecotrail de Paris^® Ile-de-France will take place from March 20^th to March 22^nd 2015 and offer various sports trials ranging from speed to endurance tests. The Verticale de la Tour Eiffel, a brand new race, challenges 61 contestants to climb the 1665 steps of this Parisian symbol in a time trial standing out as the only outside ascent of a landmark in the world. While the complete climb, from the forecourt to the top –279 meters high– is scheduled to happen on Friday, March 20, 2015 in the evening, the 80km Trail will take place the following day, with its finish line located on the first floor of the Tower.

Trails related to performance…
Saturday, March 21, 2015 will be entirely dedicated to the various Trails selected by the organizers: the 80km, 50km and 30km Trails as well as the timed 30km Nordic walking. The Quai Branly, which faces the Eiffel Tower, has been chosen as the finish line for the last three tests. Taking part to these trials implies a significant amount of training, as they are particularly arduous and destined to sports enthusiasts. The races will however allow the contestants to discover the heritage of the Ile-de-France region, from the Palace of Versailles to the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud via the pièce d’eau des suisses as well as enjoy the countryside on the various paths.

 …as much as leisure
The “discovery” trials are scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 22, 2015 and the potential contestants will be able to choose between the 18km TwinSanté^® Hauts-de-Seine, which offers the opportunity to discover the specific features of the Trails without having to feel the pressure of the chronometer and is to be performed with a partner to encourage the spirit of conviviality, the 3 Nordic walking trails, to be achieved at sustained speed with a walking pole, and the 8 hikes, destined to amateurs looking to take up new challenges on trails spreading over 13 to 29km through the paths of Ile-de-France.

A unique occasion to discover the local fauna and flora, all the while practicing a sport with friends or relatives, regardless of the level of experience.
