The département des Hauts-de-Seine is about to launch the 41st edition of the Défense Jazz Festival, from June 25th to July 1st, 2018. For a week, jazz will have the opportunity to attend free outdoor concerts.

Free concerts throughout the day
This year, from the 25th to the 29th of June, 2018, artists will perform at noon and in the evening on the parvis de la Défense. The Omri Mor Trio, composed of pianist Omri Mor, double bassist Gilad Abro and drummer Karim Ziad, will open the festival. This fabulous trio draws on multiple genres including jazz, classical and North African Andalusian music, as well as Latin music to create unique scores. Many other talents such as the Megapulse Orchestra, Anne Paceo, the André Manoukian Quartet, or the Osaka Monaurail will delight jazz lovers throughout the week.

A crazy closing weekend
From June 30th to July 1st, 2018, the festival’s closing weekend will welcome major figures from the international jazz scene, in the evening only, at 8p.m. Among them, the stars of American soul Lee Fields & The Expressions, the legendary American guitarist Al McKay from the jazz-funk band Earth Wind and Fire, the South Korean singer Youn Sun Nah accompanied by the Swedish guitarist Ulf Wakenius, or the electro-jazz geniuses R+R = Now. See you at the esplanade de la Défense for an unforgettable jazzy week!
