10th edition of the Pesticide Action Week
For the past decade, the Pesticide Action Week, repeated each year, aims to promote natural farming free from chemicals. On the first ten days of spring, visitors are welcome to inquire not only about the health and environmental stakes of pesticides, but also about their alternatives through various events in many countries, such as France, Belgium, Argentina or Cameroon. This edition is set to revisit the various laws implemented over the last ten years, like the Labbé law (2014) forbidding the use of pesticides in non-agricultural and private areas or the Ecophyto plan (2008) aiming to reduce the dependency of farms to phytosanitary products.
A tight schedule
More than 600 events are already planned for this new edition, which will breach a large variety of subjects, such as the organic farming, the management of green ways, the bees, or the biodiversity. The “Alerte dans nos assiettes” –Danger in our plates– screening-debate, for instance, will allow visitors to discover this documentary by Philippe Borrel, which condemns a diet containing too much salt, sugar and fat, as well as discuss it with the director. The “Alice au pays sans pesticides” –Alice in Pesticide-free land– event will offer the opportunity to take part in various activities for children, visit information stands, attend screenings or even meet apiarists and farmers.
10th edition of the Pesticide Action Week, from March 20th to March 30th 2015.
