This accumulation of received and sent mails is harmful to the environment. Indeed, emails which are no deleted for good are saved in aligned computers in data centers, huge secured sheds, which heat at very high levels nonstop and need a permanent air conditioning. Result? A colossal energy is used, which little by little pollutes the air. By the way, the environmental agency ADEME (French Environment & Energy Management Agency) points out that these professional emails sent represent 299.8 lb CO2 equivalent by employee every year. A sufficient reason to take charge of your own life and start a huge clean-up. As a bonus, it’s good for the moral, guaranteeing some sense of lightness and it’s practical to organise our personal and professional mailboxes.
