Exhibition: Mika Rottenberg

For its new monographic exhibition in France, artist Mika Rottenberg (born in 1976 in Buenos Aires) reinvents several of her greatest video installations which made her famous worldwide—at the Palais de Tokyo. This is the second time the creator exhibits in Paris—after her first retrospective at La maison rouge. Among the revised works, there are NoNoseKnows (2015), SEVEN (2011), Squeeze (2010) or Bowls Balls Souls Holes (2014). Some new works specially conceived for the event are also presented—and notably sculptures. The particularity of Mika Rottenberg’s work lies in the fact that she often calls on women—whose physical particularities are praised or offered on the Internet. Their non-standard bodies—far away from the current canons of beauty—are here subject to a story where they are mobilised by various actions made non-stop. The result is captivating, taking us to the limit between reality and fiction since everything seems to be surrealist and strange.

Exhibition ‘Mika Rottenberg’, from June 23rd to September 11th, 2016.
Open every day, except on Tuesday, from noon to midnight.
Full rate: €10 / Reduced rate (under 26): €8 / Free under 18.
